Water Filtration

It is a fact known the world over that humans cannot survive without water; over 70% of the human body is made up of water.  In a modern kitchen we need water not just to drink but to prepare food, wash clothes, clean dishes and to complete many other tasks.

Whilst the only option in the past was to use water directly from the tap, technology in recent years has seen an improvement in water filtration, reducing the amount of harmful bacteria and viruses and giving the water a purer, cleaner taste.  The origin of water filtration is where many brand have made their millions, including the well known company, Brita.  They, and similar companies sold small filters for specially adapted jugs to purify small quantities of drinking water.

Other more overall solutions have become widely available in recent years though whereby full water filtration systems can be fitted into kitchens to give purified water directly from the kitchen tap.  In areas of extremely hard water, reverse osmosis has also become increasingly popular.  Here the water is forced through a membrane and any impurities are left behind.  Reverse osmosis is one of the most rigorous forms of water filtration.
