FIJI Bottled Water

FIJI Water is a brand of bottled water that is sourced from an artesian aquifer in the Fiji Islands.  The company was founded in 1996 after government geologists discovered the aquifer and David Gilmour procured a 99 year lease to access it.

The company has since been taken over by Roll Interntaional who rebranded FIJI’s bottled water and improved sales in the USA, UK, France, Spain, Australia, Mexico, Germany and much of the Caribbean.  As of 2008 FIJI bottled water was the largest brand of imported bottled water in the USA.

FIJI bottled water is supposed to be composed of naturally occurring beneficial minerals, such as Silica, which promotes strong bones, hair, skin and connective tissue.  Unfortunately they have come under fire from environmentalists though who have complained about the amount of fossil fuel used in production and the overall level of carbon emissions produced for FIJI bottle water.
