Milling Machines

Milling machines are computer controlled machine tools used for shaping metal and other solid materials.  They are vertical mills that have the ability to move along the Z-axis as well as the usual X and Y, making it particularly useful for applications like relief sculptures.

Milling machines are a particularly versatile style of machine, as the x-y table rides up and down the column on an adjustable knee.  This makes them particularly good at performing a vast range of operations including slot and keyway cutting, planing, drilling, diesinking, rebating and routing.
