Natural Gas Vehicle
Natural gas vehicles are being widely used all over the world. People have now realised that we should look after the planet, by converting your engine into a bi-fuel engine we are doing this. Natural gas vehicles give out 20% less CO2 then an ordinary petrol running car. Not only this but to it is cheaper to fill up your car with natural gas. Natural gas is lighter then air so it is safer than petrol in the respect in that the fuel tank splits, as it will disperse quickly. The natural gas is made mainly of methane. People sometimes get natural gas confused with LPG, as they are both natural, environmentally friendly gases. However natural gas is exactly that, a gas, and is cheaper, where as LPG (liquid petroleum gas) is a liquid and is made of mainly propane and butane.
Propane gas conversions are also used. It is widely known in America as propane gas conversions, which is cheap and friendly to the environment, whereas in other places in the world it is called autogas conversions. Propane is made up of 3 part alkane, it is so good as it turns into a liquid easily once at a certain temperature. Propane and butane makes up liquid petroleum gas. Which is otherwise known as LPG. All of these conversions are bi-fuel engines. This means that the car can run on both petrol/diesel and LPG/CNG (compressed natural gas). You primarily use the gas, however you can switch to the normal tank at just a push of a button near the gear stick or on the dashboard.
