Electric Car
With a growing awareness of the impact we have on the environment many people are ‘going green’ with their vehicles. Along with financial problems caused by the credit crunch more people are looking into LPG conversions or buying an electric car.
Electric cars run on a stored electrical charge, usually from a fuel cell or battery, which drives an electric motor and in turn powers the vehicle. Wholly electric cars are not considered fully reliable yet but a hybrid electric car is an ideal alternative, as it not only has the electrical system but a petrol engine and fuel system as well. The hybrid car can intelligently switch between the two systems, thus maximising on economy and still saving money.
Electric cars are a worthwhile investment in hybrid form but are still not as environmentally friendly and financially beneficial as LPG run vehicles. However, before you make a decision as to whether you should invest in a hybrid car, you should contact a local garage that specialises in electric car conversions who can answer all your queries in detail.
