Lighting Cheese
Lighting cheese is no different to lighting other food and perishable goods. Supermarkets and shops have to choose their lighting carefully to not only ensure that health and safety laws are observed but that the quality of the food is not affected.
As a dairy product, heat can affect the quality of the cheese. Overheating is not usually a significant problem when lighting cheese displays but can become one if the bulbs or tubes are faulty. Similarly certain types of lighting can cause discolouring and a change in flavouring, which will almost certainly affect sales.
Specialist lighting should therefore be used for cheese and other perishable goods to prevent issues with quality. Using special lighting for cheese will also mean the bulbs or tubes will be shatterproof to prevent glass contamination while colour rendering will show it at its best and make it as tempting as possible to potential customers.
