Fume Extraction Cabinet UK

Fume extraction cabinets are used to remove toxic fumes from the air, used most commonly in laboratory work, soldering and solvent handling.  A fume extraction cabinet is an alternative to a fume cupboard, but works in a very similar way. Fume extraction cabinets are often made from clear, shatterproof polycarbonate and have a chemically resistant base, for safety reasons.

Valves are used to control the airflow in and out of the fume extraction cabinet. Many are also made from heat resistant materials in order to accomadate for exothermal experiments or high-temperature soldering. ESD resistance is also an important feature in a fume extraction cabinet, as ESD (electrostatic discharge) can be a health hazard and damage equipment. This is particulary important when using electronic devices.
