Cable Assembly

A cable assembly is a string of cables and wires that transmit informational signals or operating currents. To prevent cables hanging loose and breaking or causing accidents they are bound by clamps, cable ties, lacing, sleeves or tape.

Cable assemblies are used for a wide range of applications, especially in the construction and manufacturing industries. Using a cable assembly over individual strings of wire has a number of advantages including:

  • Better fitting and security from abrasions, moisture and adverse movement
  • Better use of installation space
  • Decreased risk of shorting
  • Decreased installation time
  • Decreased risk of electrical fires if cable assembly is bound in a flame-retardant sleeve

A cable assembly can be purchased in bulk for manufacturing using standard components and styles but if required can be created to a bespoke specification.  Faulty wiring can be dangerous so whether your need is for standard or specialised cable assemblies be sure to purchase them from a reputable, knowledgeable supplier.
