Remote Visual Response Centre
A remote visual response centre or RVRC for short is the core of any security surveillance operation. Images from CCTV cameras monitoring the site in question are fed back to the remote visual response centre where until recently people would watch large banks of monitors. Their job was to watch for suspicious behaviour and raise the alarm if any was observed.
Due to the monotonous nature of these jobs in the remote visual response centres a high margin of human error was encountered and many events missed. Recent research and development has therefore seen intelligent video take over in remote visual response centres.
Intelligent video systems automatically monitor and recognise suspicious events and raise the alarm. This has significantly reduced the number of errors made and also reduced overhead costs with fewer staff allowing the security company responsible for the remote visual response centre to provide clients with a better service.
