To use barcodes in a business, the barcode scanning system and software must be able to take in information from the barcode scanner and look up the selected product in a database. Not only does a complete barcode scanning system require hardware such as a barcode printer or barcode scanning device, but it requires database software as well as drivers for the hardware. A complete barcode scanning system will include a RFID system to store data needed to look up the item.
